OUR STORY
From a place we call home...
Mayela De Anda was born and raised in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico. At the early age of 20, she immigrated to the United States in search of a better life for her family. Upon her arrival to the U.S., and despite the inability to speak the English language, Mayela established a foundation within the food industry by cultivating her passion and drive for excellence, through hard work and determination.

Starting off as a cook within the fast food industry, she worked long hours while continuing to raise her three children and pursuing a commitment to learn English. After several promotions, Mayela earned the distinction of becoming District Supervisor for a nationally renowned fast food chain.

Building on those successes and continuing the pursuit of owning her own business, she made the decision to leave her position in 2006, and opened her first restaurant, BurriTaco, a Mexican food drive-in located in Odessa, Texas. Nine years later, in January of 2015, after sustained growth and a wealth of experience gained with her first business venture, Mayela proudly opened her first full service restaurant, Mojitos Mexican Bar & Grill.
